The system known as MANIFOLD consists of several cylinders screwed onto a perforated plate so as to be
connected to each other and to a control panel on the plate.
The control panel is used for charging and discharging the nitrogen gas.
The
pressure of the gas, therefore the force exerted on the cylinder rods,
is always under control, and can easily be adjusted from the external
panel.
The plate makes it possible to fix the cylinders in the
desired positions, and also creates a plenum chamber for the gas,
ensuring a proportional reduction in the increase of the force at stroke
end: the larger the volume available for the gas, the smaller the
increase in force. The basic parameters that must be defined with the
project are: the total force required and its distribution in space; the
ratio of final force to initial force; the working stroke; the overall
dimensions; the location of the
control panel.
The plate can be drilled and configured by Bordignon to user specifications.
We
have selected washers for fixing the cylinders to the plate, in order
to ensure that the cylinders cannot come unscrewed (e.g. because of
vibrations) in any working condifions. This is another example of a
simple, innovative solution, patented by us, for preventing a potential
problem.
